Abstract

This document describes the various URC master documents for a coloured light bulb. Vendors of this or similar devices should derive their URC documents from them.

Status of this Document

This is a public Draft Technical Report in last call review, developed by the editors, hereby made available for review by openURC members and the public. Based on its procedures, the openURC Technical Committee has opened a last call 4-week review period and asks for comments by June 6, 2016. Comments on this document should be sent to coloured-light-bulb-comments@openurc.org, and will be considered for the further development of this document.

1. Introduction

Using coloured light is a powerful way to create impressive atmospheres. Here, the expression coloured light bulb is used as a synonym for any light source that can change its colour. The User Interface Socket Description for a coloured light bulb contains all elements to control the colour, brightness and saturation. All documents can be either used directly or can be extended.
