Public Last-Call Review: Device Template "SMS Notifier 1.0"
The Technical Committee announces a four-week public review period for the SMS Notifier 1.0 device template. Public Last-Call Review: Device Template "Email Notifier 1.0"
A parallel four-week public review period opens for the Email Notifier 1.0 device template. The document specifies URC master documents for an Email Notification Service, following the same template structure as the SMS Notifier. Both templates demonstrate how URC socket descriptions can standardize common communication services.

Kochbot and the Intelligent Kitchen at CeBIT 2014
The DFKI Competence Center for Ambient Assisted Living demonstrates the Kochbot intelligent kitchen at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany. The prototype uses URC technology to control kitchen appliances — oven, hob, extractor fan, and refrigerator — through a single smartphone application. The Kochbot guides users through recipes step by step, automatically adjusting appliance settings as cooking progresses.
